Brian “Kelly” Poe Obituary, EUGENE, Mo. — Brian “Kelly” Poe, 60, of Eugene, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. He was born on October 27, 1965, in Sedalia, Missouri, to Robert E. and Clara (Carver) Poe.
Kelly was known for his strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and the many interests he pursued throughout his life. His loss has left his children, grandchildren, family individuals, friends and other loved ones mourning his loss and remembering the life he shared with them.
Professionally, Kelly worked as a drywaller and owned Poe Drywall. He also owned and operated Poe’s Place in Eugene, Iberia and Eldon, becoming known through his businesses and work in the local neighborhood.
Beyond his career, Kelly enjoyed spending time fishing and cooking and putting his carpentry skills to use. He also had a special affection for his Shih Tzu dogs and his beloved cat, Boozer. These interests, along with his relationships and everyday experiences, formed an important part of the memories his family will carry forward.
Per to the information provided, Kelly passed away peacefully at his home on August 26. A specific medical cause of loss has not been gave, and no particular illness or medical condition has been identified as the cause of his passing.
Kelly is survived by his three children, Kelsi (Doug) McClure of Jefferson City, Kasey Poe of Eugene and Hannah Poe of Jefferson City; his mother, Clara Johns of Versailles; grandchildren Aiden Smith and Avah Poe; brother James (Rebecca) Poe of Holts Summit; sister Vickie Poe of Rocheport; and his beloved cat, Boozer. He was preceded in passing by his father, Robert Poe; stepfather, Clifford Johns; sister Brenda Hawkins; and nephew Daniel Hawkins.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at Berry Street Baptist Church in Eugene. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Shay Carpenter officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kasey Poe, Robert Poe, Levi Puckett, Kevin Parker, Jeremiah Claunch and Walter Wolff.
Brian “Kelly” Poe will be remembered by his family, friends and others who knew him for his work, interests, relationships and the memories created throughout his 60 years. His family will proceed to carry his memory through the lives of his children, grandchildren and loved ones. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
