Aubrey Lynn Wissel Obituary, BAYVILLE, N.J. — Aubrey Lynn Wissel, 11, of Bayville, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. She was a student at Berkeley Township Elementary School.
Aubrey was remembered for her adventurous spirit and her enjoyment of spending time outdoors. She loved climbing trees, playing soccer, going to the beach, running around the neighborhood and spending time with her friends.
She also enjoyed the companionship of the relatives dog, Coby, with whom she spent time during her several outdoor adventures. Her interests reflected a young life filled with activity, exploration and time spent with the people and animals she loved.
Aubrey had a particular love for space and dreamed of becoming an astronaut. That aspiration reflected her curiosity and fascination with the world beyond Earth, adding another distinctive part of the young girl’s personality and interests.
She was described in her obituary as kind, caring and thoughtful of others. Her family and friends will remember her through the activities she enjoyed and the moments shared with her during her 11 years.
Aubrey was preceded in passing by her grandfather, Thomas Kutassy. She is survived by her parents, Bruce and Nicole Wissel; her sister, Keira; grandparents Maria Kutassy, Harold Albrecht, Bruce P. Wissel Sr. and Kathleen Wissel; aunts and uncles Stephen and Britney Albrecht and Jay Wissel; cousins Kaylee and Thomas Wissel; and many loving family members and friends.
A memorial gathering for Aubrey Lynn Wissel is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9 in Forked River. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, loved ones hold their families close, laugh together and never take a single day for granted.
Aubrey’s memory will remain with the loved ones, friends, classmates and others whose lives she touched. Her love of adventure, her caring nature and her dreams of becoming an astronaut will remain meaningful parts of the life she shared with those around her. Condolences are extended to the Wissel family and all who are mourning her passing.
