Bill Patton Obituary, RICHLANDS, Va. — Bill Patton, a former longtime member and employee of Richlands Volunteer Rescue Squad / Richlands Fire-Rescue, has lost her life. Patton passed away on August 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of more than six decades of service to his local area.

Patton proudly served the community from 1963 through 2022, dedicating nearly 60 years to helping others through his work with Richlands Volunteer Rescue Squad and Richlands Fire-Rescue.

Throughout his years of service, Patton was recognized for his commitment, compassion and dedication to protecting and caring for the citizens of the neighborhood. His work placed him among those who devoted much of their lives to public service and helping people in times of need.

Richlands Volunteer Rescue Squad / Richlands Fire-Rescue remembered Patton as a longtime member and employee whose service touched countless lives. His dedication reflected a deep commitment to the community and the people he served throughout his six decades in emergency response.

Patton was also identified as EVOC Driver #280. His service continued until 2022, marking the conclude of a remarkable period of commitment that began in 1963.
